1380.0. "SALEM, NH AREA COURSES???" by DNEAST::ROGERS_GORDI (GORDI) Thu Oct 10 1991 08:10

Hi, I am looking into transfering to the Salem facility. After
an interview last Monday my chances look good. Thought someone might
be able to tell me where I might find the golf courses in the area.
After the interview I rode around but wasn't able to "sniff" out any.
Could someone clue me in on what is available in the area? What kind
of membership dues do they charge? I am sure I will find a big
difference in the dues down there and the dues I paid up here in Maine.
($400) Being a golf "addict" I will need to find some where to play.
    Thanks in advance.

Gordi, Hoodkroft C.C is a nice 9 hole course about 15 minutes from
NIO, right up 93 north to exit 4. Membership would cost you about
525.00 for a single and around 625 for a family. There is a Wednesday
DEC league that plays there also. The course is in excellent shape and
is pretty challenging. I've been a member there for 5 years and have
fun every time I go out. If you are ever in the area let me know and
we can get together and go play it if you want.

PS...memberships usually don't last very long into the spring so if you
feel you might be interested you might want to get a lok at it before
    the snow flies.

Thanks for the info Mike, if I get back down that way I'll
take a ride up. By the way, you played in the DEC Corporate Challenge,
didn't you? at Candia Woods? I think I remember you....good golfer,
low handicap and you crushed the ball epsecially for your size if I
remember correctly???? I'm an eighteen but love the game. I'll look you
up if I get the chance. Thanks, again.

I don't play to often in that area, but there are several good course in
southern N.H. all of them have been mentioned in this conference. Like
Sky Meadow in Nashua, Green Meadows in Hudson, Overlook in Hollis. And
then some in Mass close to the NH border. Trull Brook and Hickory Hill
come to mind.

    There's also Crystal Springs in Methuen/Haverhill. It's a nice 18
    hole course.

There Pine Valley in Pelham NH on Rte 38. It's a challenging 9 hole
    course.
