| I recently played at The Heritage (maybe a month ago), and took them up
on their 'special'. I'd say it was worth it, even though there are
about 8 holes on the course with very little grass on the fairways!!
The greens were in good shape, and the lunch and beverage were good.
You get your choice of a soda or a draft beer, and a hamburger, (or)two hot
dogs, (or) roast beef or tuna sandwich.
The story I heard about the course was that the owner, a few years ago,
was planning to either sell the course to be used for condos, or put
the condos/houses up himself. Zoning and/or other restrictions
prevented this from happening. After chasing this for a couple years
(while putting no money into course maintenance) he finally gave up,
and is now trying to bring the course back to it's original quality.
It's not a long course (don't know the yardage)....but the pro shop was
very accomodating. We showed up with 9 players, and they allowed us to
go off the back nine, sparing us a 40 minute wait on the 1st tee.
Also, whereas the cart was to be included in the package, they provided
our ninth player with a cart of his own at no additional cost.
Lastly, a word of caution.......the Whites (I believe) are the LADIES
MARKERS!!!! After I came up about 10 yards short of driving the par 4
10th, and another guy in the foursome came up 5 yards short of driving
the par 4 11th, a grounds crew worker complimented us on our shots.
When we said that both whites seemed to be towards the front of the
tee, making it an easy shot, he laughed and informed us of our
mistake!!!
Hope this helps,
Nelly
P.S. I got a 47 on the back nine (after being 1 under after 4 holes)
and a 37 on the front.

| I've played it in the past, and it's kinda fun. Pretty terrain, nice
folks and real easy. You should see the "Scramble" numbers that get
posted at this place. Prices are pretty good also. Good morale booster,
and we can all use that occasionally...

| I've been down to Heritage a few times lately for their special and
I think it's the best deal around. Granted the course isn't in great
shape but the greens are OK. The length isn't that short at 6200 for
the blues (which is the whites normally). If you figure $10 for the
cart, $1 for the beer, and $3 for two dogs your talking greens fees of
$5. For low budget golfing this is the place to play.
