1266.0. "Middleton Golf Course info please." by GIAMEM::BKENNEY (ARACHIBUTYROPHOBIC) Thu Jun 06 1991 10:49

Does anyone have any information (directions, opinion of course,
greens fees, etc.) about the Middleton Golf Course in Middleton,
Ma.? My understanding is that it is a 9 hole par three course.
Any information will be appreciated. Thanks.

Middleton is on Rte 114 west of Rte 1 and east of Rte 62. Greens fees
are $12.75 for 9 and $19 for 18. More info to follow at later date if
    interested.
1266.2Update on MiddletonCECV01::BOZEKThu Jun 06 1991 14:3228
Brief background [to indicate ability level]: My husband and I play
Sagamore-Hampton every weekend. Since they don't have red tees I use
the actual white tees rather than moving up from the whites or teeing
up in front of the water on the 8th. My scores average mid to low 120s
(last Sunday I carded a 113 -- felt good!) and I only drive the ball
    150-170 (I'm a wimp).

Knowing where I'm coming from as far as ability, I offer the following
info and comments on Middleton. (Four weeks ago a co-worker [1st year
player] and I started playing one afternoon each week. We'll be
playing this afternoon and will pick up a card to confirm yardage).

Middleton is pretty well maintained and the people are nice. They have
a well-stocked pro shop including custom clubs and repair, a
restaurant/lounge, pullcart rentals, group or individual lessons, and
free clinics on Saturdays. There are a lot of Seniors, ladies, and
    school/college guys; occasionally you'll see a parent/child pair.

I'm working on my short game as well as trying to straighten out my tee
shots. I prefer doing both at Middleton rather than a driving range
-- I'd rather tee up on real tees and chip onto real greens. I think
the shortest hole is 85 yds from the reds and there are a few holes in
the 240-260 range from the whites. Therefore, for me, I have the
opportunity to use 1-3-5 woods and 3-iron off the tee and it gives me
plenty of practice with my PW, SW, and chipper off the edge. It's good
for beginners - real golf course environment (including water, trees,
and sand) without being devastated by a regular course (par 3s, 4s,
    5s).
