1164.0. "Robert L. Jones 2 Wood" by TOLKIN::HOGAN () Mon Feb 18 1991 15:18

This weekend I was setting an area in the cellar to start building
and repairing clubs. I was about finished and decided to mess around
with this old two wood I had sitting around for as long as I can
remember. Anyway, I start stripping the old finish off and on the top
of the head appers the mane Robert L. Jones. The club head is a solid
piece of wood. It has no insert in the face of the head it's just all
wood. The shaft is a one step metal shaft with a piece of wood in the
end that the grip was screwed into. It appers that the shaft is
connected to the club head with a piece if wood. it looks like a dowel
goes through the club head up into the shaft.

Can anyone tell me how old you think this club is. I have never seen a
Bobby Jones autographed club, but then again I have never seen the
Grand Canyon either. Do you think it has any monetary value or is it
    just an old club?

I knew that. Sounds like I had better check the name again. Maybe it's
    a T not an L. Maybe it is an L. Maybe I don't know what I'm talking
    about.

Could be Bobby Jones the plumber from Mississippi who was handy with a
Dremel tool. May not be worth anything. :)- :)-

Then again it could be THE Mr. Bob Jones. Try these collectors for more

May as well have been Bobby Jones the PLumber. Got hold of a guy from
Golfsmith and he said if I hang onto it for about 300 years I may get
back the money I spent on the sandpaper I used to strip it. Oh well.
