1149.0. "Foxbat Magic II" by MASALA::JSALLY (Born to be wild.....) Tue Feb 05 1991 21:17

    I would be interested to hear from golfers from the States, who use
    or have used Foxbat Magic II Irons. What do you think of them, as I
    think they are an American model.

    Cheers
    John.

    NEVER HEARD OF THEM ON THE WEST COAST, SOUNDS LIKE A TOM CLANCY
    AUTOGRAPH MODEL OR MAYBE A RUSSIAN KNOCK-OFF. COULD BE ONE OF OUR
    DEPRESSED AEROSPACE COMPANIES IS TRYING TO GO COMMERCIAL WITH SOME OF
    THERE R&D.

    They're made by Precision golf equipment, 'Foxbat Magic II' 1990 Model.

    Somebody must have heard of them, apart from you Joe.

    They`re made here in Dallas, right down the road from the DLO facility.
    You can buy factory seconds at a good price, but then you can go over
    to Fort Worth and buy Hogan seconds for the same amount.

    Not especially good clubs, but I got a good putter cheap from them.

1149.4What's wrong with them ???BHUNA::JSALLYBorn to be wild.....Wed Feb 06 1991 00:185

    Thanks, but why don't you think they aren't especially good clubs ????
    And how much for them brand new, and how much at seconds ?????

1149.5FOXBAT quality seemed fineGRANPA::RFAGLEYloose cannonWed Feb 06 1991 18:577
    As I've said before 17-4 stainless steel is 17-4 stainless steel. I've
    never hit them, but our pro shop carried a few sets last year. If I
    remember correctly, you could call the heads oversized. The clubs were
    swingweighted and the face grooves appeared consistent. They looked to be
    of satisfactory quality to me. Quite an interesting design.

    Sorry about the delay, I'm in the process of relo and I came across a
    letter from Fox Bat in response to our local DEC golf league. It is
    dated 9/1/1987, so consider this in the prices.

    Type			Suggested	Pro
    of clubs			Retail		Price(DEC's)

    Magic II woods(1-3-5)	$255		$150
    	     woods each		$85		$50

    Magic II irons(2-9,P,S)	$550		$350
             irons(3-9,P,S)	$495		$315
             irons(3-9,P)	$440		$280
             each		$55		$35

    If anyone wants the letter, just respond to this note and I'll send it
    to you. Who knows, maybe they will still offer the discount to DEC.
