1071.0. "No brag, just fact !" by DNEAST::STEVENS_JIM () Sat Sep 01 1990 00:23

    I have to brag someplace.

Today, I won the Presidents Cup at my home course, Western View
    in Augusta.

    I shot a nice comfortable 51 (boo), 44 for a 95.

    I beat my opponent 2-1.

The Presidents cup is a handicap tournament. The guy I beat had to give
me 5 strokes. I didn't need any of them as I won the stoke holes
    outright.

    Victory is such sweet wine.

    Jim

I knew Bush was playing golf in Maine, but wasn't aware he was playing
down in Augusta. I guess we all owe you for beating him and getting
him back to the White House.

    Good Job.

Well it's time for the Freeb to toot his horn and inform you of my
golfing accomplishments these past two weekends. I've been playing
well under my handicap as of late. Two weekends ago I won a two day
event called the "Mountain Tour". It is a two day event that about 25 or
so of us Decies here in ASO (Augusta) put together each fall. We play
Friday at Sugarloaf (Carrabassett Valley) and Saturday at Mingo Springs
(Rangly). Both courses have spectacular mountain/lake/foliage views.
Jim Stevens made a valiant run for me till the last nine (54 hole event).
We use the stableford scoring system for this event. Pocketed $48

My partner (Larry Zayac who is a silent contributor to this file) and I
finished First in our leagues A flight at Green Meadow, this past Friday.

And Saturday we finished overall team champions at our final league tourney.
