| Since no one seems to have current info, I'll at least give you the
insight of someone who has played the course in the past.
Nabnasset Lake CC has a mix of open and tight fairways. Hole 1 is a
short, narrow par 4 with a creek running the length of the hole. This
creek runs beside or across holes 5, 7, and 8. The only par 5 on the
course, hole 3 is a 140(!) degree dogleg right. Tee shot placement is
critical to making an easy hole out of it. There are a couple of real
nice par 4 holes. Holes 3, 4, and 8 have adjacent fairways, making for
some "head covering" on errant shots.
All greens are small and fast and tend to have rounded tops, a trait of
most of the local nine-holers. If you have a good bump-and-run game and
are accurate off the tee, you can score well here. Otherwise you're most
likely in for a frustrating round. Condition of the course was generally
pretty good but that might have changed.
I believe the greens fee is for 18 holes but you'd be wise to
check. IMO they are looking at the public to help finance the maintenance
of the place and "encourage" people to become members, hence the steep
fees for walk-ons. It was very subtle, but I got the impression that if
you're not a member, you're "looked down on".
I've played "Nab" twice as a member's invitee 4-5 years ago, but
haven't gone back on my own accord since. Does that give you an idea of
what I thought of it?? (Note: I'm a resident of the town.)
