    Shane,

The "carpet cleaner" asked me to remind you to replace your divots.
We are also thankful that the ceiling is still together. BTW pieces
of sheetrock on the clubhead voids the guarantee. :-)

For Christmas I wanted lots of snow to keep the ground 'warm' so we
don't loose all the greens again next. (got that so far) Then I want
an early spring. Santa also ordered a new set of persimmon heads due
in late January. Maybe I can get the shafts in February!

    Happy Holidays to all

    Hi Ted,

It may take some of Santa's help for a -15 , so we all better be
    good till tee time !!

I hope Santa brings us another great year of golf weather , and the
time for everyone to enjoy it...

    Merry Christmas to everyone!

This may be out of your league but.....

please Santa, I know you are partial to cold and snow, but
could you give us an early (warm) spring next year. This winter
has been brutal so far. My hands are cracking!! If you can't
manage that, the Challenge Cup next fall would be ok, too. Thanks

Happy and safe holidays to all!

Santa I have a short list:

	1. I would like a pretty picture golf book to look at until
	   vacation in February.

	2. Please help my swing avoid athrophy on the shelf over
	   the winter.

	3. Let me putt like last spring & swing like last fall.

	4. Let me pick up some hardware in the DEC golf league this
	   summer.

	5. Let the challenge cup be on a weekend this year so I can play.

A lot less slow play everywhere so we can all get thru our rounds in a
    reasonable amount of time. Or...
A membership at International Golf Club where this isn't a problem.

Also for my partner in the Challenge cup to play more than once a month
this year. :*) (Just joking he still carried me around MCC.)

Santa stopped by my house and really surprised me !!! I was all
prepare to get a new chainsaw for Christmas this year and have
loads of fun cutting and hauling wood all next year but no !!!
Sticking out of the top of my golf bag over in the corner was
a huge green bow that was concealing a Taylormade Tourburner
Plus 9.5 degree Driver with Titanium shaft. I have wanted one
for a couple of years but would never have gotten it for myself.
It is a much better toy than a chainsaw !!!

Really, Gene? What tournament is this?

I received the book Golf's Magnificent Challenge, by Robert Trent
Jones. It's a great book. Loads of great pictures. The text
discusses Golf course design. Just the thing to tide me over
	until February.

	Larry

PS. Gene, I hope you are heading south for that tournament! ;-)

I think Gene was talking about the first PGA tournament of the
year. The way this winter is going, us local NE hackers won't
    be playing our first tournaments until late May.  8^{

Santy Claus left me a chipping net (there goes the rug downstairs),
and some Nevada Bob's gift certificates to purchase a new sand wedge
to match my set. Too bad they can't bottle up and sell a yip free
putting stroke, otherwise, I'd have asked for that too!

    RE: .22, .23, .24

Sorry, Rick was correct in .24. I didn't mean to imply that it
was one that I would be playing in... It is the first tourney for
the tour boys, the Money Tournament of Champions. Can't play here
in good old NE, but I can at least start watching again next week...!

The only golf related stuff I got, although I asked for PINGS and
a 10 handicap, was personalized tees and a "Six To Go" carrier. It
hold 6 cans of soda, or whatever, keeps them cold and hangs off
    my bag..

I drove by my home course last Sunday...There is about 25" of snow on
the ground...I think an early spring is out of the question, but at
least we shouldn't lose any greens.

832.27Leather instead of ironDUGGAN::DIAZOctavio @GSBWed Dec 27 1989 14:0515
Well, I was looking for a new sand wedge, but couldn't find it, so I
got instead a leather jacket. It won't take care of my ups and downs,
but at least I will look good during this *&%$#@ winter.

My daughter gave me a small book with many of the known famous people
phrases, like Trevino's "not even god can hit a one iron", but also
some other ones I never heard. I'll bring it in, and when I have
time, which is not often lately, I will enter some here.

I keep on saying that since the winter started early, so will spring.
Keep on hoping!!! and until then, I'll enjoy winter. I just had
over Christmas the most enjoyable time skiing with my 10 and 7 year
    old children.

Although I found a GoreTex rain suit and 75 ProStaff's under the tree,
the BEST present Santa brought us folks in Dallas was high 60 degree
temperatures on Tue-Wed-Thur-Fri of this week. That translates into 4
    rounds during the holidays.

The cold front that hit the nation last week sent the temperatures in
the D/FW area down to a low of -4 and wind chill of -42. The average
temperature for about 6 days was around 14.

We are all glad that is out of the system so that we can get back to
those afternoon rounds in January when it averages around 44 degrees.

    Have a Happy New Year,

    Mark
