Has anyone played Dural CC in Miami, I will be in Miami the second
week of April after a week in Myrtle Beach. I recently called Doral
but was told that they only take tee-times up to 48 hours in advanced.
If anyone can tell me the possibilty of playing this course with
that short of a lead time, I'd surely appreciate it.

Four years ago I was in Miami attending a customer conference and
took an afternoon (at the urging of my trusty salesperson) to play
the Blue Course at Doral.
I can't recall the exact dates but it seems as though it was the
same time of year. We took to the course unannounced and without
tee times in the early afternoon and had no trouble getting off.
(That's better than I can do at my own club.)
There are, I think, five courses at Doral. The most famous of these
is the Blue 'Monster' Course upon which the Doral Eastern (or whatever
it may be called this year) is played. It cost us $75 apiece to
play the course but it was well worth it. The hardest thing to get
used to was the grass - especially on shots around the green. The
grass would just 'lift' up in these huge carpets and kill your shots.
I believe there is a standing challenge to golfers who par or birdie
the 18th hole.
Enjoy it. I wish I were there in the foursome ahead of you.
