342.0. "Anahein Ca. Golf" by LDP::WRIGHT () Wed Jul 20 1988 14:27

I'll be in Anaheim Ca. in October. I was hopeing to play some
or maybe a lot of golf. Can anybody give me some hint on good
course in the area. Will it be nesscary to make teetime during
the week? What kind of clothing should I bring for that time of
    year ?

      Thanks

I have a friend who everytime he goes to Anaheim plays a course
Industry Hills (I think that's it but I'm not sure. I know it
is associated with the Sheraton resort in City of Industry.)
There are 2 18 hole courses there ranging from about 6500-7000 yds.

I had an opportunity to play Anaheim Hills last fall. I recommend
it highly. The course was a good challenge and was in excellent
shape. Tee times were required during the week, and I believe
the cost was less than $15.00 (I couldn't believe it!).

    Good golfing,
    Jeff
342.3Not too far from Anahiem!MILVAX::FENTONThu Jul 21 1988 10:5916

I spent 10 days in Huntington Beach, CA this year which isn't too
far from Anehiem. If you get a chance try a public course that
only cost $5.00 right on the Pacific Coast Highway near 7th St.
in Long Beach. The place was in excellent condition and had club
and cart rentals and two 18 hole courses! The name of it is Recreation
Park Municipal Golf Course. 5000 East Anahiem St. Long Beach CA
    90804 213-494-5000. I couldn't believe it was a public course.
I keep my fingures crossed that someday DEC will expand out there!!!!

I have golf balls exploding inside my head when I think about the
RED ONION night club!!!! Try that out too!

    Enjoy your trip!

You want golf in Southern Cal? Below are names and phone numbers.
Call first to see if they are having any tournaments. But if you
are going as a single or a twosome you shouldn't need to get teetimes.
Weather will probably be warm, but bring a sweater just in case.
I can personally recommend all courses listed below:
    Green River (2 18 hole courses) 714-970-8411
    Mountain View 714-737-9798
    Anaheim Hills - 714-637-7311
    El Prado (2 18 hole courses) 714-597-1753
Of course, this is just the ty
tip of the iceberg. Drop me a line if you want more info.
What is your handicap? How far are you willing to drive from Anaheim?
And so on. Be glad to help.
