324.0. "CADDYSHACK II" by GRANPA::KVENEZIO () Thu Jul 07 1988 21:27

    I think we need a note on Caddyshack II. There will be alot of people
    heading to the cinemas to catch the sequel to the funniest golfing
    movie ever filmed. I can only hope it is as funny as the first.

    My understanding is that Rodney has been replaced by Jackie Mason,
    Bill Murray has been replaced by Dan Ackroyd, Danny Noonan has been
    replaced, of course Ted Knight has retired the the fairways in the
    sky and Chevy Chase is questionable. Not a real good start.

    Has anyone heard of the release date?

One of my friends here happened to be in California while they were filming
some of the golf scenes. They were at the Industry Hills golf courses in City
of Industry, CA (outside LA).

    I thought Rodney was supposed to be in this movie with Sam Kinison.
    Anyone know for sure?

324.3Hey Wang, its a parking lot!!!USMRM3::CBRADSHAWFri Jul 08 1988 13:485
    Rodney walked off the movie when they first started to shoot. He's
    being sued because he was advanced many dollars. Jackie Mason was
    brought in to replace him.

324.5Too Bad! Nice thought though.AKOV11::JODOINFri Aug 05 1988 19:1419

    In my opinion, it STANK!

    No depth,
    No real connection between scenes,
    No plot developement,
    No moral to the story,
    No climax,
    No humor (except for Chevy)

    Besides the fact it insulted the average PUBLIC golf course. He
    didn't turn Bushwood into a public golf course, he turned it into
    an amusement park.

    But that is my opinion and yours could be different.

324.6A DOUBLE BOGIE FOR C.SHACK IIGRANPA::KVENEZIOMon Aug 08 1988 20:455
    I haven't seen it yet but everyone I've talked to has concurred
    with .5, real GARBAGE!!! I have been told there is no humor. I
    guess Jackie Mason tries to be Rodney and it just doesn't work.
    I'll wait for the video.

324.7what about Lacy?HARLEY::DAVEit's tee time !!!Wed Nov 16 1988 15:087

    I was thinking of seeing this movie. Any other opinions out there?
    Is Lacy Underalls still in the show? It's getting cold up here in
    the great white north and I must start to look for entertainment.
    There may only be a few more days of hacking left.

	Save your money. A previous note pretty well covers it. The movie
	isn't really about golf at all. A guy buys the club and turns it
	into a cross between minature golf & an amusement park.

	The only good scenes are the ones with Chevy Chase. Unfortunately
	he's pretty much limited to a cameo appearance.
