Bob,
I'm not sure what you mean here. Does this mean that when you
try to hit it hard (go deep) you hook the ball (fail left) and that
this is caused by standing too close to the ball? Or does it mean
that you have a tendancy to fall left (just a typo) because of poor
balance? These are two different problems. The latter can be solved
by not having the first beer until the round is over :-}

| Thanks Kev, I tend to drive/hit in long shots about 200-220 yds.
I know the normal answer would to take some lessons and see where
I am falutering, however I just have the time right now.
I remember years ago that a better than average person I golfed
with said that the lower body position is one of the most often
overlooked things by the average golfer.
I'll try to explain. I caught myself one day having a terrible
round. The elbow was breaking to early and the game was a wash
after the first 9. I tried to focus on the elbow, as I did this
the game began to come around again, however as I progressed I noticed
that I was pushing everything to the left by about 15 - 25 yards.
I felt very un-comfortable for some reason. I felt to close and
tied up because of the elbow focus. I have sinced learned that
I have tendonitios (sp?) in the right elbow (right handed).
I have sinced adjusted the grip and swing, especially the lower
body (thanks to the advise of another better than average golfer).
I have lost some distance but the game is back in line. I don't
know if what he said is the truth but- he said " because your elbow
was bothering you I was brining the lower body furter away (maybe
just a matter of 2 or 3 inches) without even realizing it to try
to eliminate the sub-concious pain, thus the whole swing was affected
by this." I have now changed my right hand position a little and
try to keep the lower body in a little tighter than the top of the
body, it's working and as it works I won't mess with it.
Back in the 40's again.....yeeeeaaa whooooooo!
Thanks,
Monty
