| Steve, I don't know the exact yardage, but it's a nice course.
It has 3 men's tees. White, Blue and Gold. I'd rate the Whites
fairly easy, the Blues about average to slightly difficult, and
the Golds extremely difficult. I think it's 7000 + from the Golds.
It does have some hilly holes, but overall it's not real hilly and
then again not entirely flat. There is water to go directly over
to get to the green on 6 holes, and a winding brook that comes into
play on at least 9 holes. Greens are a little fast and hard, but
overall are true and in quite nice shape. My recomendation would
be to play the Blue tees.

| thanx - ouch, that's a lot of water - i'll have to bring my
floating balls! Sounds like the lies will be o.k. in the
fairway though. How about the rough? Deep? Do the trees
tend to get in the way in the rough, or will i be able to
knock it out & up the fairway? We won't have a choice of
tees since we'll be playing in a tournament - I'll bet
we play from those blues though. Do you know (roughly) how
long it is from there? Is it a typical 2 par 3's, 2 par 5's,
5 par 4's per 9 holes, or is it more unusually balanced. Are
the par 3's long? Sounds like it's well maintained, and with
all this rain lately it ought to be in good shape, but maybe
slower than usual.

| It's a par 71, 35 - 36, with 4 par 3's and 3 par 5's. The par
3's are average, with the longest being about 190 and the shortest
about 160. The par 5's are, except for 1, unreachable in 2, unless
yop can fly a drive over water 250 yards. The rough is again, average,
which is about right, considering the water. And as far as trees,
they are there, but are more or less sparse. Only a couple of holes
have what I would actually call woods. There are a few O.B.s, but
usually offer you one side of the fairway to miss on.

| thanx, Beak - I'm raring to go, now. The par 3's are reachable,
par 5's are rarely reachable for me on any course anyway, I can
hit my 3 wood out of any average rough, and I hate trying to
bend around trees, but O.B.s usually don't catch me. Now if
only the water would dry up fast!

| Steve,
I just played there this past Wednesday. It's a par
70, 35 - 35. It has 3 par 5's and 5 par 3's!!! Only 1 par 3 that's
longer than a 5 iron. Only 1 par 5 that's reachable and you have
to hit 2 very good shots to do it.
I had an average round, and played better than I scored.
I shot 85, but I felt I played to about an 82 score. I had 2 doubles
that I didn't deserve. One on the 6th, a par 5 that I hit an 8
iron into the green for my 3rd shot. It hit a sprinkler head near
the green and bounced 10 yards past the green and behind a tree.
The other on the 18th, after a perfect tee shot, we got caught in
a downpour, and the club slipped on my approach, leaving me in the
trap on the right of the green. The sand got real wet and heavy
and unfortunately, I didn't make it out on my 3rd shot. Oh well.
Anyway, the course is in good condition, and the greens are fairly
fast. Tough to read too.

| sorry for the delay - i just got back to town. Well, we played
and it was a nice little course ( i started putting full course
details in here a while back, but the network crashed in the
middle, so now i'll just sum it up). Fairways were narrow, but
the rough wasn't bad. The water really didn't get in the way
much for me, but it presented some nice challenges - the only
time we had to look out was on our drives on 3-4 holes, where
water was reachable. It was a very pretty course, in good
condition. I thought that it was a fair course - no ridiculous
lies or crazy hazards. Greens were normal size, normal speed,
normal difficulty (whatever that means). I shot a 93 (about
right for me), but that was in the pouring rain - we enjoyed it
in spite of the rain. Only 3-putt was on the first hole. I
loved that long par 5 dogleg left, over the stream, the back uphill
past the mound (especially since I got a par). We played from
the middle tees - I'd like to try it from the back tees, it would
be more fun (now if i could get rid of those back-to-back triple
bogies on the back nine, i might even be able to score in this
silly game). We played with one guy who drove one par 4, and
almost another (18th!! - no easy feat)!
I'd like to go back there, and play it again.

| Steve, you played from the middle tees. What color? They have
4 sets, Red, White, Blue and Gold. I can't imagine anyone wanting
to play that course from the Golds, unless of course, you don't
mind shooting 20 strokes over what you mormally do!!! Very long
from those tees, and the fairways become much narrower, or at least
seem that way.

Did you see that one tee up on the hill next to the clubhouse? -
the one where you could drive the lake downhill - it looked
like it would be fun.
Actually, since my driving stunk that day, I was in the rough
a lot (only hit 3 fairways!), but I never seemed to be in trouble.
The only difficulty I found was due to the rain creating a heavier
than normal rough to get out of, so I needed more loft (and blew
2-3 strokes by getting over-ambitious). In fact, I thought that
course was fairly forgiving to bad driving, even though the
fairways were narrow. For instance, on the second hole, I pushed
my drive all the way into across the 3rd fairway. After we all
got up from the ground after laughing so hard, I went and found
that I had a blind shot over trees and into the wind to the green,
but even that was a makeable shot, and I managed to par that hole.
The only real trouble the other guys got into (and me once) was
taking too little club to clear water in front of a hole, or too
much club and reaching water from the tee. Also, one guy lost 2
balls in the rough just off the fairway after all 4 of us thought
we had seen exactly where they landed! Then there were a couple
of holes where the you're better off driving short and straight
than risking hooks or slices into the woods where you could lose
2-3 strokes fast.

| Well, I didn't win anything, but had a very enjoyable day.
I shot 84, 1 stroke better than my 1st round there, but once again,
felt I played better than I scored. I just couldn't buy a putt.
I only 3 putted 1 green, but just couldn't make any of those 6 -
15 footers. I usually make a few anyway. It almost seems as if
the cups on this course are built on tiny hills, that push all putts
that aren't dead center, away and out of the cups. I just really
had a bad front 9, starting off with 2 double bogeys and finishing
with a 44. At least I got back a little on the back 9 with a 40.
We played the white tees, although I wish we played the blues.
I hit the ball fairly long, and it wouldn't have hurt me as much
as most of the other golfers. There were a lot of guys in the 45
to 60 year old range, who just hit the ball straight but not very
long, that would have had their scores increased at least 5 strokes.
The whites are only something like 6000 yards, while the blues are
like 6650 and the Golds about 6900. The course was in excellent
condition though, and I avoided all the water. Great day too.
