1122.0. "What do all the MS7CC-DQ,DF,DP variations mean?" by CSC32::J_GAINES () Mon Mar 03 1997 18:37

    		The QRL listings for the 8400 system shows the part
    	number for the 512mb memory module as a MS7CC-DA.
        	I have seen various versions of this module when
    	doing a >>>show config.
    		I have seen a MS7CC-DQ,MS7CC-DP,MS7CC-DF. What is
    	the significance of the -DP,DQ,DF? Are all these different
    	suffixes compatable?

    Jim,
    	I beleive that the generic part number for the memory is MS7CC-DA
    indicating 512mb while -DQ, -DP, -DF, etc. actually specifies the DRAM
    vendor used.
    There are various opinions regarding mixed vendors DRAMS on memories but
    generally you should not mix vendors on SIMMs and not mix SIMMs on mother
    boards. (other opinions on this are available)
