2587.0. "Roland pr-100 info??" by PCOJCT::RYAN () Mon Mar 04 1991 16:40

    Hi,

    Can anyone offer any info on a Roland PR-100 sequencer, I can pick
    one up used for 200 (without manual). does that sound like a decent
    price.

    Ps: I did a quick scan thru the notes and didn't fina a ttopic on this
    thing, please feel free to direct me to any relevant info.

    The PR-100 is a simple sequencer using 2.8" QD quick disks. It has almost
    no editing capabilities, it's basically a two-track tape recorder
    "emulator", that is, you play in your part, overdub the next part,
    merge the two together, overdub, etc. No cut and paste features.

    The expense of the QDs (about $3 a pop, compared to about $1 for 3.5"
    floppies) together with their limited storage capability (64K vs. 720K)
    means if you use the thing a lot you'll end up eating up any savings
    over a better sequencer in disks.
