Correspondence about the following should be sent to l-haken@uiuc.edu!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The University of Illinois CERL PLATO Music Group is pleased to
announce the availability of a demonstration version of Lime, a
powerful score editing program for Macintosh SE and II series
computers. A StuffIt file containing the executable and manual can be
copied via anonymous FTP from novamail.cerl.uiuc.edu (inet number:
128.174.180.9)

If you do copy it, please send email to l-haken@uiuc.edu so we can
keep track of who is testing it.

We recommend a 68030-based Macintosh with a hard disk and at
least 2 megabyte of RAM. The MacPlus and MacPortable will also work
(given sufficient memory), but more slowly.

    Eirikur,

    I'll give it a try. We've got a registered IP subnet here in Tucson,
    but I suspect we'll have to go thru DECWRL.. next few days. I've been
    away 6 working days (and am taking off tomorrow, 11/16).

    Hmmm....

    Seems to me that I recall that FTP access outside the company can ONLY
    be done via DECWRL and DECPA. I know DECVAX could do it once, but I'm
    not sure anymore. If you've got a registered IP subnet, I think that
    FTP access outside the company is restricted. Karl, if you can make it
    work, please post the details here. I know this isn't really commusic
    stuff, but hey, there is A LOT of music stuff out there on the internet
    if we can get FTP access.

2494.3You can send'em back to school, but COMMUSIC runs deep.RANGER::EIRIKURThu Nov 15 1990 19:427
    Chad, (you remember Chad) Leigh (back at school for a while at BYU) has
    grabbed it and mailed it to me. I don't actually have all the pieces
    yet, and I'm not sure it will make it, but since he's working on it, I
    suggest holding back.

2494.4I've got Lime online.TALLIS::HERDEGMark Herdeg, DTN 226-6520Fri Jan 04 1991 21:5516
I've got copies of the Lime software. It seemed quite buggy from the short
trial I gave it a few weeks ago.

You can copy it from:

	TALLIS::EMT_00:[HERDEG.PUBLIC]LIME_DEMO.STUFFIT
				      LIME_MANUAL.STUFFIT

By the way, you can get files from anywhere on the Internet by using the BITFTP
server, which you mail requests to and it mails the files back to you. To get
more information, send the single-line command "HELP" by mail (with any subject)
to:

	bitftp@pucc.princeton.edu
