2493.0. "Programmable Rhythm Sections" by AQUA::ROST (Dennis Dunaway Fan Club) Wed Nov 14 1990 19:35

    Some of you who remember the days before MIDI may recall the old Korg
    PSS-50 "Super Section", which integrated a digital drum machine with an
    analog synth that could be sequenced to play bass lines and chord
    comps. I just saw a new Korg PSS-60 "Super Section". Looks like a fat
    P3, has some kind of membrane keyboard for loading in your notes like
    the old box did, but now there's MIDI in and out plus the generic Korg
    RAM card slot. Didn't catch a price.

    Meanwhile, welcome the Kawai GB-1. General Business? Almost, it's also
    a rhythm section machine, drums plus bass plus chord comps. No MIDI,
    but at $149 list, you 're going to be picky? All stuffed in a small
    plastic case about 5 x 7 x 1/2".

    Is this the latest trend, band-in-a-box-in-a-box? 8^) 8^)

2493.1It really does look like a well-fed P3RANGER::EIRIKURWed Nov 14 1990 20:524
    I saw that new Korg box at Daddy's. I almost had to get one because it
    matches my P3 and O3's.  :-)

    I tried that one at Daddy's... It sounds real cheasy... I expected it
    to have the sounds of the P3/O3 boxes - nope. Old technology sound
    architecture. It reminded me of the old beat boxes that come with home
    organs.
