2484.0. "Drum notation - - again, but I can't find the original" by ULTRA::BURGESS (Mad man across the water) Mon Nov 05 1990 12:09

I've been trying to find the note that included drum notation
- - I found Jen's patterns, couldn't find Len's notes from wayyyyyy
back - and have had no luck at all trying to find the one that
explained which percussive instruments are represented by the various
little "thinggies", i.e. the one that looks like a double sharp sign
and seems to appear at the B below middle C, and the demi-quaver with
three slashes across it's stem, around E if I remember. Yes, I'm not
sufficiently literate to guess it from the context (-:, (-: I would
appreciate direct help or a pointer to a (cheap) volume at the music
store book-shelf.

2484.1DCSVAX::COTECan't touch this...Mon Nov 05 1990 15:007
Len's magnum opus was "Drums & Drumming For The Non-Drummer". I believe
it appeared in a long archived version of ::MUSIC. I don't think it
addressed some of the issues you're concerned with, tho.

I'll bet he's still got it on line.

It's also stored in the DRUMS conference. Press KP7 to find out
that I don't know how to define the key to do this...and I'm not
going to wade through help at 1200 baud to find out, either. The
guy in the next reply will do that, hopefully.

There is something in note 2160 that might help.
