2418.0. "synth sound effects" by MILKWY::JANZEN (Commerce settles on every tree) Wed Aug 15 1990 21:06

What are some ideas for rain making on a TX81Z? I need continuous
white noise, OK, occassional short swells, I can do that by hitting
    more keys on that sound.
I need plunks on a rain gutter, that's a sort of metalic hit.
    I need crackle maybe. lite.
I heard some rain on TV the other night, and it occurred to my that
    it was probably electronic.
What other sound effects have you invented on a synth and how?

You might want to experiment with the S/H (sample and hold) argument
to the LFO, at a fairly quick rate, for the sound of rain.

The TZ should be able to do a metallic plunk pretty easy.

I think I've got something (somewhere!) that may work for you...

I have rain and thunder in My Super Jupiter, but mapping an analog
patch into the FM domain might nonstraightforward (crookedbackward?)

    len.

I've got a patch that sounds like a frying output transistor. Great fun
during sound checks! ("Who's getting ready to smoke?")

Anyhow, I'm sure it could be tweaked into rain.
