| Valhalla is a pretty solid supplier of patches. I have bought patches
for the Ensoniq ESQ-1 from them. I was pleased with the quality of the
patches overall. Those that were similar to factory patches were
considerably better. The response to my order was prompt, I have no
complaints about their service.
If I could fault them I would say, like many patch suppliers, they try
to stuff everything into the collection: some pianos, organs, strings,
brass, emulations of older analog synths, sound effects, etc. Obviously
if you have multiple synths you don't need duplicated patches, what
would be better would be to buy patches that are based on the strong
points of the machine.
A few suppliers, Cesium is one, do sell their patches by type, that is
you can order sets of just piano patches, just organ patches, etc. so
you only pay for the sort of sounds you are looking for.
I have also bought patches from Voice Crystal, they were better than
Valahalla, although more expensive in a $ per patch comparison.

Does anyone have any experience with the D-110 sound cards provided by
Valhalla? I keep seeing their ad in Keyboard magazine and am tempted... I'm
looking for better piano and orchestral sounds than those that come as
standard, if that helps.
