2357.0. "Thanks for the memories..." by MUSKIE::ALLEN () Thu May 31 1990 17:04

    As some of you already know, I will be leaving Mama DEC in the next
    week or so. It is a change of career which I have been contemplating
    for a number of years.*

    I just wanted to take this opportunity to say a couple thank yous:
    1) To DIGITAL for allowing us to have this space.
    2) To the moderators; I don't know exactly what is involved in
       moderating a conference like this, but I certainly appreciate
       the effort the mods put in.
    3) Perhaps most of all, to all the COMMUSICers out there. I have had
       the chance to speak or write to many of you off-line and have
       continually been impressed with the quality of people you are.
       Moreover, the COMMUSIC tapes speak to the enormous talent and
       penchant for fun that exists within the company. I owe most of
       what I know about this hobby to your comments, ideas, and your
       willingness to share. Of all the experiences I have had in my
       five years at DEC, I can honestly say getting into MIDI has been
       one of the highlights (and it's not even "job-related" 8^)!)

    I wish the best for all of you, at DEC, in your music, and in life.

    Clusters,

    Bill Allen

    * For those of you who are interested, I am going back to school this
      fall to get a degree in Family Social Science at the U of MN. In
      4-5 years I should be out teaching and counselling families on how
      to deal with the MIDIholics in their midst :-) .

    Good luck Bill, and thanks for all the help.
    I enjoyed your commusic submission(some day I will type in my review)
    and I am still waiting for that tape of your other stuff and I am
    working on my tape.

    I guess, I will have to keep West Indian music alive in the next
    commusic offering.

    Stay in touch,

    I know that *one* of the regulars in this conference lives in my home

    Have I committed a social faux pas?

Edd,

This is Bill Allen we are talking about, not Bill Y* (not to be confused with
any other Y* like Yam, Yama, Yamah, you know what I mean) or any other Bill.

2357.13What? Pay list?!!MAIL::EATONDFri Jun 01 1990 16:037
    Bill Allen's from the mid-west, an area once thought of by me to be
    beyond the ends of the civilized earth, but now, I have come to
    understand that it is indeed the center of the universe (except when it
    comes to buying music equipment).

2357.14Can you break the code?MUSKIE::ALLENFri Jun 01 1990 16:2010
    re last few

    Yes, this is Bill Allen (alias Ras Snowball) who will continue to
    reside in Eagan, a suburb of the Twin Cities (Minnesota). And for any
    of you who don't know where that is, ask Comrade Gorbachev. He's
    coming here to visit this Sunday :^).

	Well, right now I'm in Boylston (for training) for the next two weeks.
But my residence has changed fairly drastically from New England to Missourri
(did I spell that right?). We've been living down theyah (that's New England
talk) for about a month now.

	I've taken a COD II position as a sales support type person. I'm still
around on the network, but probably won't be in as frequently.

  No, COD (usually prerequisite to work in *scales*) :-)

  Bye Bill, I hope your counselling efforts will lead to the restoration
of domestic harmony :-)
