2323.0. "Question on transferring sequences." by PROSE::DIORIO (Kazoos--the great equalizers) Tue Apr 17 1990 20:52

If this has been covered in another topic, please direct me there. I want
to transfer some sequences from my software based sequencer (Voyetra
Sequencer Plus Mark III) to another sequencer (Cakewalk). But I don't want
to have to lug my computer over somebody else's house, or vice versa to do
it. Is there a way to do this? Is this what Standard MIDI Files are for?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

	Yes.

But some sequencer programs hold more data in their proprietary
files than Standard MIDI files, so take lots of notes about
patch settings & stuff like that.

See this months Electronic Musician (April 1990, or maybe it's May 1990).

There is an entire section on moving sequences off of PC based sequencers
to 10 or 12 hardware based sequencers (MMT-8, MC-500, EPS, VFXsd etc.).
Good step by step instructions & explainations of each system.

It's actually pretty useful info (for those of us who do this sort of
thing frequently).

I saw it Jens. It's a good article. The only problem is that I'm trying to
go from one software-based sequencer to another software-based sequencer.
