2037.0. "Seeks article on Performer for MAC" by SALSA::MOELLER (Never say 'forget it' to a computer.) Wed Jul 05 1989 23:23

My memory needs a jump start. I'm looking for an article, either
from Keyboard or Electronic Musician, in the last 2 years, which
discussed at length how to best use the quantize functions in Mark
of the Unicorn's Performer sequencer for Macintosh. I need to do
some things to clean up the rhythm tracks of the commercials I've
done, and there's something about the implementation of quantization,
specifically the 'sensitivity' option, that just stymies me.

    thanks in advance !

Will Performer take human clock in to tell it where the beats are,
perhaps in conjunction with the quantization logic? The ads for
version 3 say something about "lets you conduct real-time tempo changes
before, during, or *after* you record."

Paul, though I have an old version of Performer, I've had demos
of the later versions (I would have to upgrade my MAC's memory to
    upgrade Performer versions).

The 'real-time tempo changes' feature is actually a 'conductor'
track. It DOES allow you to change the tempo, and record the changes
permanently. It does NOT allow YOU to type in the bar/beat locations.

Boy, you must be anticipating dealing with a mighty sloppy sequence!

I hear there was a good article about better use of
Performer's optimization capabilities in the Mar'88
issue of Electronic Music (Electronic Musician?).

This magazine is hard to find at libraries, and before
I call the magazine, can any of you send me a copy of
    	the article?

    	Please?
