2026.0. "New Tascam MM1 Line Mixer" by DRUMS::FEHSKENS () Fri Jun 16 1989 18:21

There's an interesteing ad in the latest Keyboard and Electronic
Musician for the Tascam MM-1, a rack mounted "2*4+12 into 2" mixer.
It has 4 stereo inputs and 12 mono inputs, with 4 effects sends and
4 stereo returns. It claims to have "full" EQ on each channel.
I assume there are only two mixing busses, the ad says nothing about
    this.

From the not very large photograph included in the ad, there don't
appear to be enough knobs to handle all these functions, so I wonder
    what's been "simplified" to uselessness.

It also has the capability of programming up to 100 different
configurations of channel muting, for invocation by MIDI program
change commands. Pretty basic "automated mixing".

The unit appears to require 6 rack spaces. And there's no data
    about noise levels.

Still, it looks interesting. Anybody got additional details?

    Oh yes, price is $1095.

Thanks for starting the note, saved me the trouble.

That part looked too good to be true, unless as you say, they've
simplified something(s) to the point of uselessness.

I was wondering if its a response to the trend toward more
outputs per SGU (6 or so seems to be common now) ???

BTW, I only glanced at the ad., but it didn't look like a 6
rack space unit to me (too wide ?); more like a table-top unit.
