1543.0. "Commodore C64 Patch Editor/Librarian for DX7?" by SUBSYS::GLORIOSO () Fri Jul 15 1988 17:57

    I'm looking for a Patch Editor/Librarian for the DX-7, to run on
    a C64. I was looking through Mix Bookshelf and I found two.

    One, Dr. T's Caged Artist Editor/Librarian DX Heaven.
    			  Comes with 128 patches. Retail $99.00

    Two, Sonus'  Design Editor/Librarian.
    			  Comes with 320 patches. Retail $149.95

    Has anyone had any experience with either of these...or perhaps another
    one in the same price range?

    Also, what MAIL ORDER house has the best price for this type of
    thing?
    					Thanks, Scott.

1543.1Caution on Dr. T !HPSTEK::RHODESTue Jul 19 1988 17:1814
Caution !

I have a 'Caged Artist' series Dr. T editor/librarian for the C64 for Yamaha 4
op series synths. The patch editor is *useless*. There is no graphics - just
text entry of the parameters. It is faster to use the front panel of my DX100.
I have no complaints about the librarian functions tho...

Midimouse may make one. They advertise in the back of Keyboard magazine. They
are very helpful on the phone.

In my view, patch editors that don't employ graphics (at least for the
envelopes) are a waste of time.

Todd.
