1373.0. "Looking for MIDI mod for Roland Juno60" by BEOWLF::BARTH () Wed May 11 1988 16:24

In an effort to upgrade some dying equipment, I'd like to find a
MIDI retrofit for a Juno-60. You know, the one that was state of
the art about six years ago? I can't see selling it for $300, and
don't want it to collect any more dust.

So anyway, Eddie at Wurlie's told me about an MD8 box, made
by Roland to do the job. They are very scarce and very expensive
    (he quoted me $375!).

Does anyone know where I could find one of these? Better still,
does anyone know of an alternative MIDI mod for the Juno? Know
of anyone that does custom modifications?

    	Thanks,

it for....uh...help me out guys.. Whats the going rate (reasonable
now, this is a fellow commusic type person) If noone comes up with
a reasonable amount, make me an offer. I work in Salem NH and am
    on the third shift.

I bought a Roland Juno from Daddy'd a while back and he gave me
the MD-8 as a package deal. I no want so lets talk. It works,
so a freind that tried it out told me.

Well, it ain't $75, but there's an ad in Keyboard (page 132, left page,
1st column, 4th ad under Parts/Accessories) for a mod for the Juno 60.

Features: MIDI IN/OUT, selectable channels, patch changes. $229.

    Matty,

A Juno 60 is almost identical to your SH-101, but six note polyphonic,
61 keys. Separate oscillators are used for the LFO and arpeggiator,
and there is no sequencer. There are 32 (??) patch memories and a DCB
interface, for which a sequencer was made, forget the model number,
roughly equivalent to the later MSQ-100. The Juno 6 was the same synth
minus the patch memories and DCB interface.
