1117.0. "Cheeta Products." by JON::ROSS (we is wockin'....) Thu Dec 31 1987 17:40

hey. Anyone know where we here in the states can
    see/order/touch/buy/talk_about CHEETA products.

Seems they make quality synths and stuff for very little.

    in England, I believe....

But who's got em? I want to try out the piano action midi controller.

As you may have seen in a couple of previous notes "Cheetah" is
a U.K. company producing very *Cheap* midi gear. I haven't heard
to much about the quality as I don't know anyone who ever bought
one or saw one. However I have the product list if you are interested.

I'd be most interested in seeing a brief product/price sheet posted
here. An address would be most useful also.

Always looking for a good deal,

Yup -- they look good. 7 octaves, velocity and pressure, weighted
keys, steel case, midi'd up to the eyeballs, 399 pounds.

therein was a review of the Cheetah MKvv master keyboard. Summary
is that they are excellent value for the price. I am sure I summarised
the product list elsewhere but her goes again.

1117.6The rumours in london...MARVIN::SCOTTBArry A. ScottSat Apr 30 1988 15:187
I saw the adds and tried to track down a music shop in
London or Reading to try their keyboards out. I could
not find any. What I did get is a lot of advice saying
that the quality of the products in low and to avoid
	them.

Gee, I wonder if there's enough interest to put together a reasonably
large order. The prices seem so appealing. I'm looking for a good controller
myself. It would be good, though, to be able to review a fairly detailed spec
sheet.

Maybe the stuff is not setup for export to the US. You know, power
supply issues, UL approval, FCC approval. Expensive stuff, which might
even bring up the initial cost of the keyboard!

1117.11I SAW one!20981::EATONDWhere is he when the music stops?Tue May 31 1988 20:2411
I was browsing through LaSalles the other day and saw one of the
Cheetah controllers. Seemed to be a very basic board. No touch sensitivity,
and only a pitch bender (no mod wheel). Oh, and patch change buttons. They
wanted $250 for it.

I couldn't tell if it was a used piece of gear or new, or whether
LaSalles' intend to stock them. It was over in the side of the keyboard room
that is generally reserved for used gear.

I've recently obtained a brochure from Jessico (see previous note)
about their midi products along with a ridiculously high price list.
Oddly enough, a large square was cut out of this price list. I believe
it contained the actual selling prices.
Since then, for the last three days I've had phone calls from
a salesman from Jessico. Unfortunately, all they've gotten is my
    answering machine.
It will be interesting to see what type of prices they're pushing,
since the list price of the MK5v, velocity sensing, arpeggiating,
    100 patch, 4 zoneable, 4 midi-out, midi echoing, *2 input merging*
    61 key controller is $800.
                                          to be continued....
