In Southern Ontario is where you find most of Ontario's wealth ... so, the
impact on that part of Ontario, whatever happens to Canada will be limited.
Whatever happens people must eat, must have clothes and a roof over their head.
Ontario's high standard of living will ensure that it stays that way. So,
personally I wouldn't worry. Around Ottawa is another matter ... it is hard
to say what will happen there.

I'd be far more concerned about the general Canadian business climate and the
type of business that you want to start. If it is just a "me too" or "also
ran" business without something very distinctive, then the odds for
success slim greatly. Since the mid-80s the number of "also ran" businesses
that failed were quite high ... and I don't really see a lot of change since
then.

I'll leave it to people resident around Toronto to give you a better idea of
the current business climate.

While you are Canadian, I presume that your husband is not ... Check to ensure
that he can obtain the necessary papers to work in Canada.
