| Plays and shows:
Big stuff:
Phantom of the Opera - Pantages
Miss Siagon - Princess of Wales
Crazy for You - Royal Alex
Showboat - Ford Center (North York Center)
(see Crazy for You, IMHO the first two sucked, haven't seen
Showboat)
Lots of small theatre always
There is a half price/same day ticket booth at the corner of Yonge and
Dundas (Dundas Subway Station) that will have rush seats for most
things going, this is not the same scale as the TKTS booth in NYC,
don't expect much if anything for the big stuff.
No large sports being played right now, Major league hockey is on
strike.
There will be sales starting on Boxing day (though it's strictly
speaking illegal many stores are open).
New Years eve there will be outdoor concerts at a couple locations and
"First Night" a family oriented, arts focused, multi-venue alcohol free
new years celebration.
Good Italian everywhere, for a good steak house try Carman's unlesss
you don't care for Garlic.

The weather in Toronto is pretty lousy right now. We had a start of a
blizzard yesterday that turned to freezing rain. Second time in a
week.
Do you have access to Internet? They have listings as to what's on (Eye
Magazine), the only thing is that they are just a week ahead. The same
with the larger "Now" newspaper. Extreme detail, but not that far
ahead. At least not that I remember. Toronto Life does a bit better,
I'll have a look at the December issue.
These questions come up a lot in here, does anybody have a better
source?
There are so many Italian places you have to narrow it down a bit.
Trendy or not, expensive, area, etc.
