801.0. "Trees: a renewable resource (NOT in Canada)." by KAOFS::D_STREET () Thu Mar 03 1994 13:37

    Not content with the pillage of BC forests, the lumber companies are
    starting to truck logs from Alberta. One would think that after
    trashing a renewable resource in one province, the next door neighbor
    would learn. But then again, the Conservative are in power in Alberta,
    so like the east coast fish, we can expect alot of hand wringing and
    remorse once ANOTHER renewable resource has been squandered.

     Over to you Glenn... I'm sure you can explain why I have this all
    wrong, and the Government and lumber companies are not to blame for the
    fact that there are not enough trees in BC to keep the mills busy any
    more.

    							Derek.

801.1OK, I'll go out on a limb on this onePOLAR::RICHARDSONSick in balanced sort of wayThu Mar 03 1994 14:165
    It's obvious, the trees in western Canada have decided to grow in
    international waters and foreign fishing trawlers have been logging
    them. Experts are stumped.

	Glenn,

	You have it all wrong, most lumberworkers are billiard players
	and that of course attracts them to the west.
