762.0. "What happened to VTX EASYNOTES" by KAOFS::R_DAVEY (Robin Davey ... Canadian C.T.S.) Wed Nov 24 1993 15:43

    Anyone know why " VTX EASYNOTES " is not available anymore?

    It sure makes it hard to do your job if you know there's a
    notesfile out there but don't know where.

    Thanks,

    Robin

Try the notes conference TURRIS::EASYNOTES
762.3ThanksKAOFS::R_DAVEYRobin Davey ... Canadian C.T.S.Wed Nov 24 1993 17:3812
    I get a "file not found" error on TURRIS::EASYNOTES.

    Did get a list off ANCHOR though, thanks, but I don't think
    I'll pull it every week though. If all 93,000 employees
    pulled that 294 block file once a week there would be 14 Gbytes
    of network traffic each week for this function alone not to
    mention the 28 Gbytes of disk space used if everyone kept 2
    copies. Maybe VTX access to this data makes sense after all.

    Thanks again,

    As I understand it the guy that maintained Easynotes List has left DEC
    and no one has volunteered to pick up the chore. The list is likely to
    get more and more out-of-date until it's deleted altogether, which may
    have happened already by the sound of it.

    Keep your old lists handy....

    Someone else picked up the maintenance of EASYNOTES.LIS as I
    understood, but the VTX database is gone.
