          SHORT TERM PERFORMANCE ENGINEERING CONSULTING OPPORTUNITIES
          ___________________________________________________________



        I have an urgent need for two performance engineers to work on a
        major systems integration project with Digital-Canada in Ottawa.
        Briefly, the objective of the project is to modernize and automate
        the logistics, supply and warehousing system of the Canadian Armed
        Forces. Currently, we are in the runoff phase where three
        contractors are competing to win the implementation contract.
        Consequently, the performance engineering positions are for a
        short term period starting immediately and ending in October 93.

        Following is a list of the required experience:

                o Computer systems performance modeling and simulation
                o Benchmarking
                o Performance instrumentation
                o Performance measurement and testing
                o Capacity planning and system sizing
                o Statistical analysis
                o Written and oral communication skills

        In addition, knowledge in the following areas would be a plus:

                o Software Performance Engineering (SPE)
                o Application performance tuning and optimization
                o Database performance
                o Ultrix, Unix and OSF/1
                o CASE and software development (C, C++)
                o Database design and distributed databases
                o Client/server solutions
                o SES/workbench simulation tool
