    Hi Gerry,

It all depends on where in Toronto she lives. If she lives in the
west end of Toronto, she might try in Mississauga on Dundas St between
HWY 427 and Hurontario (HWY 10). There's a slew of furniture stores
    along that strip.

    Regards,

    Scott.
501.2campus or Goodwill for furnitureTROOA::BROOKSFri Aug 30 1991 15:1512
    Gerry,

If she is a student of some kind, she may wish to visit a campus and
post on and/or check out the the bulletin boards. There are often
people moving out into the real world willing to part with furntiure.

As a last resort, she may wish to visit the Goodwill store on
Jarvis(?). My girlfriend picked up an antiquish dresser thing for a
    fair price.

Goodwill is located at Jarvis and Adelaide. The furnature selection
there is occasionally good but not often.

Another area to consider is Danforth Avenue east of Coxwell.
There are several used furniture and consignment shops
along there, particularilly on the north side of the street. One in
particular I have had some success with is Frontier Sales.
