I spent some time recently in B.C. Some friends who have place in Salmon Arms
told me that the local people believe the Ogopogo to exist.

490.3Film at eleven??VAOU02::BOTMANPieter Botman - Vancouver EISThu Aug 15 1991 01:0310
    I believe this is "old news". I recall two summers ago a team from
    National Geographic were up in Lake Okanagan filming and searching, as
    were other amateurs. At any rate I recall seeing a grainy film clip on
    the local news one night. The creature in the film clip was anything
    from Ogopogo to a large beaver, gliding just at the surface.

    Don't wait for additional "film at eleven"....

    There's also one called Mussie that lives in Muskrat Lake (Ottawa
    Valley) near Cobden. They even searched for it but didn't find
    anything.

    Speaking of water creatures, I saw a creature gliding along the
    surface of a lake in South Quebec a few weeks ago. I thought it
    was a dog or a beaver, but its head was so still on the water that
    I thought it was an otter. There were two or three other spots
    on the water that were moving as quickly. What do you Canadians
    think it was? Muskrat? Beaver? Otter? Mempre? Help this city
    kid find out what he saw.

    Cheers,
    Kevin

    The Jaw That Walks is the abbreviation for The Jaw That Walks Like A
    Man, aka The Chin That Walks Like A Man, aka Brian Mulroney, pronounced
    "Mulrooony" by those 'in the know'(smirk), The Prime Mover of Canada.

Thank you Scooter for saying what I said but had it removed by
the new moderator. Apparently, he takes umbrage at "vacuum-land" and
"Lyin' Brian". The first is a direct quote from Allan McFee (the announcer
on the MacPherson radio show on CBC) where he refers to all of us
who listen with radios containing vacuum tubes. Obviously, those of
us on the E-net have vacuum tubes (the CRT is one); hence, we are in
vacuum land.

As for the hyper-activity over the use of the adjective about Brian...
it's in the public domain. But, I shall repair my ways and not use
that term again in this NOTESFILE.

    The particular problems related to these things were largely contextual
    and as such have been dealt with, I hope satisfactorily, out of the
    notesfile by mail.

    I would appreciate it if anyone has concerns about moderator issues,
    they should be dealt with by mail and not here in the conference.

    Whats a saskwatch? Must have something to do with Saskatewan but I
    don't know what they are on guard or watching for.
    Or does he mean the hairy ape like man seen running through the
    mountains. I can't spell it either.

490.16KAOFS::S_BROOKWed Sep 11 1991 12:088
    Yeah, I do mean the Yeti like beast ... I admit I don't know it's
    correct spelling ... I was going by sound. And havcing is purely
    my dyslexic keyboard ... it invents new spellings for things from
    time to time no matter what I type.

    Those are my excuses, and I'm sticking to 'em!

490.17The Great Northern SasquatchTROOA::SOLEYRemeber to pick up goat from kennel...Wed Sep 11 1991 12:525
    I don't know which Sasquatch you're talking about, the one I'm familiar
    with inhabits the semi-urban areas in the northeast of Toronto. As
    mentioned in .15 these are usually hairy creatures and can also be
    recognized by their tribal garb, the lumberjack jacket and work
    boots (unlaced).
