PARIS, France.
Three skinheads waering masks to conceal their identities were charged
in court on Friday May 18th 1990 with desecrating about 100 graves and
trying to make it appear that Jews committted the crime.
Police said the three wanted people to believe the vandalism on
Wednesday (May 16th) in Nantes was committed in revenge for the
gruesome desecration last week at a Jewish cemetry in Carpentras.
A corpse there was dug up and implaled on a umbrella handle.

LEIPZIG, East Germany.
Hundreds of skinheads goose-stepped through Leipzig on
Monday (Feb. 5th 1990) shouting "Sieg Heil" and smashing windows during
a regular weekly demonstration for German unity.
Like Adolf Hitler's brownshirts who helped sweep the Nazis to power
in the 1930s' the skinheads fought with bystanders, shouting..
"Sieg Heil, Sieg Heil.." and other chants.
At least two people were injured after they smashed in the windows of
a cafe frequented by foreigners. Police had to push back 50 skinheads
trying to burst into a hospital. (Reuters)

OTTAWA, Canada.
The Ottawa area's oldest and largest cemetery has become the latest
target for vandals and local Jewish community leaders are wondering
where the the desecration will stop.
Police said vandals attacked the Ottawa Jewish Community Cemetery on
Highway 31 in nearby Gloucester Thursday (May, 17) night and spray
painted swastikas.
The attack came a day after a similar incident was discovered at the
only Jewish cemetery in Ste. Foy, a Quebec City suburb, and about 10
days after the desecration of tombs in one of the oldest Jewish
cemetries in France.
In the Ottawa-area incident, 16 tombstones were knocked over, broken
or defaced in the oldest part of the cemetery, while at least eight
were spray-painted with swastikas and the words "SS" "Fourth Reich" and
"Skinhead."
"It's sickening when you see it on t.v. But it's even worse when you
see it first hand" said Rabbi Reuven Bulka.
"It's an attack against all society" said Victor Goldbloom a former
Quebec Liberal cabinet minister and the president of the Canadian
Council of Christians and Jews at a news conference.
