    here in Kanata by a Canadian chap of the name Herzberg at the NRC
    labs.

      Interesting note about Agnes MacPhail, she was the first MP to propose
    a national waterway system linking the country together. Perhaps the
    Grand Canal should be renamed the Agnes Canal in tribute.

It was her family which also started the first fast food outlet in
North America, and believe it or not one of their products was called
a Mac.  But, alas, the venture failed; hence, MacPhail.

    Point Pelee is the southernmost part of mainland Canada. Middle
    Island is still further south.

    Sorry, but even I remember that Joe Thiesman played for the Argos
    and his shin was snapped in two by none other than Lawrence Taylor,
    the linebacker for the N.Y. Giants. I had the misfortune to watch
    it on TV. Ughhhh! but I'd rather have that misfortune than Joe's.
    
    This is not meant to be derogatory or sarcastic but wasn't TO known
    as Hogtown at one time or is that a local name for it.
