244.0. "Skiing at Sunshine Village" by SUBURB::HARRISONA (Alastair Harrison @RDL) Mon Nov 27 1989 12:18

    Hi Everyone,
Two years ago I went skiing at "Sunshine Village" Banff, it was
the best skiing experience I have ever had! We stayed at the lodge
/hotel up on the mountain which was pretty good, unfortunately I
can't remember the name of the place.
I live in England so it is difficult to find out information
about prices etc. I intend on making another trip next year around
January/Febuary time. I would like to know the cheapest way of aranging
a two week holiday at Sunshine, please can anyone offer advise?
How much is a plane ticket to Calgary return? Is it cheaper to book
the accomadation separately to the airline ticket? I'm sure there
are other questions that need to be asked so if you can please
    elaborate!
    		Thanks in anticipation

Alastair:

I've done this a number of times and we (I, wife and two kids)
will be doing it again in March, 1990 so I will give you more detailed
information as soon as I get my package from home tomorrow.

When you said that you are going to Sunshine next year, did
you mean Jan/Feb 1990? If so, then you are too late to book at the
hotel at Sunshine for 1990. I was able to get a booking for March
1990, but I booked back in mid-August 1989!

In any case, I will get the information you need (I am sure other
NOTERS in this conference will provide more info, too) by the 28th or 29th Nov.

Think snow,

Pat

Have you skied Whistler-Blackcomb here in the coastal range of British
Columbia ? If you think Sunshine is nice, come to the "mile-high"
mountains (vertical drop : 5280 feet !). The weather is warmer,
with lots of sunshine and tons of fresh powder. The Whistler village
is fantastic ( with lots of hotels and restaurants and nightlife ) and
it is only 1:40 hour from Vancouver.
