169.0. "toll free 800 numbers in Canada??" by XCUSME::KING (GO METRIC USA) Sat Apr 15 1989 19:32

Just wondering if toll free 800 numbers or WATS lines work in Canada
    as well.

We had an outside customer call our hotline in Merrimack, NH last
week for assistance in doing an RDB install. Since we support internal
DEC customers in our region (So. New Hamshire), I told him I'd try
to find a number for him to call. I found an 800 number and called
him back to give it to him. He is located in Quebec as the area
code is 418 and the switchboard operator answered in Frenh.

I hope he was able to call that number and get some assistance.

At the time I was considering other alternatives. Such as contacting
the local sales office. Would they have information related to
this?? I also had him check his documentation for a Technical Support
number. I haven't seen any install documentation but I'm sure something
    like is in there.

    Thanks,

    Bryan

The Canadian Customer Support Centre has a toll free number that
can be used anywhere in Canada. We can be contacted through
800-267-5251. The customer will have his concerns taken care of
in either of Canada's official languages.

I believe 800 numbers can be country specific or for both countries.
    Typically, they're country specific.
