122.0. "Food Gift Catalog Co's" by CSDPIE::EDGERTON () Wed Sep 28 1988 20:38

    Hi there:
I have relitives (my whole mothers side of the family)
living in Quebec. In the past we have used American gift
catalogs (Fiji's, Jones, etc.) to send food gifts to them
from Mass. However, they will not send many items across
the border (smoked meats, fruit, and the like -- perishables).

We would like to know if there are any food gift catalog
companies in Canada so we would not have this problem.

A phone number would be best, but address would work and
we could send for their catalog with plenty of time befor
    christmas.

    Thankyou
    David Edgerton

etc. The extent of what you can get, I'am really not sure ( this years
catalog isn't out yet ) someone else might know. I'am still trying
to find out will let you know as soon as I find out.

I just talked to my sister, she went through the catalog and
it's all non-perishables. You can get things like fruit cakes, cookies,
dried fruits, jam's etc. All of these are available in various combined
packaged forms. As far as perishables, what city in La Belle province
are we talking about. If we knew maybe then we could make some more
    suggestions.

I think we are looking for meats (smoked hams, sausages, bacon,
etc.) and cheeses and flowers (FTD is REAL expensive).

What I do when I send flowers to my folks (Vancouver) or
sister (Ottawa) is I call a local (in that city) florist and use
a credit card to order the flowers. I do not know about food
stuffs, however. I do save a bunch of $$$ and the call is usually
cheap (I am in Colorado Springs; I call before 8AM).
