| Well, I think I'll start off by talking about a different sport, a sport that
is really gaining popularity here in Canada.........
Polar Bear Catching
-------------------
How do you catch a Polar Bear??
Well, first you dig a big round hole in the ice, making sure that it is
a big enough one because Polar Bears are really BIG. Once you have dug the hole
to your personal satisfaction, making sure that it is a big enough one because,
as all Canadians are aware, Polar Bears are really BIG, you then painstakingly
place peas around the edge of the hole in the ice that you have dug, making sure
that it is big enough because, well.... , I think you know why by now.
Now comes the tricky part....
Eventually a Polar Bear comes snooping around to see what you've done
because, as all Canadians are aware of this, Polar Bears are very curious. Then
as the Polar Bear bends over to take a pea, you quietly sneak up behind him and
you..........
You Kick Him In The Ice Hole!!!!!!!!!

| After living in Banff for a few years (VAX Programmer for Sunshine
Village Ski Resort), there IS other places to ski besides Whistler.
Sunshine is always good for powder and a super long season (Nov
to June). Lake Louise is great for number and length of run (the
BOWL), and Norquay, well there's the Lone Pine (a.k.a. the
Nipper-Tripper). I haven't tried Nakiska but I hear great skiing
can be had there too.
Slightly off topic, Sunshine Meadows (at the village) is a wonderful
place to hike in the summer. It's hard to get at it (or at least
it was in the early 80's) but once you're there, it's breath-taking.
The meadows are at ~7000' (sub-alpine) and it's a whole new world
of flora, etc. You can walk for miles, finding the bluest lakes
on the continent. The best part is that you are away from the tourists
(a.k.a. gorbies, pepsis (empty from the neck up)).
