1282.0. "any Desktop version for Brouter90" by HTSC19::IVANCHENG () Wed Mar 12 1997 10:47

    There are more than 100 sets of the brouter 90 installed and running
    v9.14(8) in a private network. As Digital is no longer support this
    version, the customer want to upgrade their brouters version from v9.14(x)
    to v10.3 (X). However, they do not want to waste a lot of money to
    upgrade their brouters hardware from Rev A to Rev C.

    They are expecting us to provide a "Desktop" version, which is same as
    CISCO product, to resolve the hardware upgrade problem.

    Is there any desktop kits for the DECbrouter90.

    Thanks.

    Rgds,
    Ivan Cheng

1282.1Forwarded to Mike CinnamonFOUNDR::OUIMETTEZat was Zen, Dis is Dao...Thu Mar 13 1997 11:0911
    	Ivan,

    There are not currently any "Desktop" images for the DECbrouter. While
    I know of no plans to create one, the correct person to respond to this
    question is the acting product manager, Mike Cinnamon, at
    NETCAD::CINNAMON, to whom I've forwarded your note. I believe Mike is
    out until March 18th or so, so a reply won't be immediate...

    		regards,

1282.2Version 9.14 Still Supported by DigitalFOUNDR::SHEEHANMon Mar 17 1997 15:5818
 Hi Ivan,

 Although there will be no further enhancements or bug fixes
 to the Version 9.14 IOS it is still supported by Digital
 in it's current state. The most recent version available
 for the DECbrouter is version 9.14(12) which can be copied
 from

 FOUNDR::DEVICE_RIP:[RIP.BRUT.KITS.V914.914_12]

 If the customer is looking for New Features available in the
 10.0 code and above then I'm afraid there is no solution if
 their DECbrouters are Rev. A. routers with 2meg DRAM 4 Meg Flash.

 Regards,

  Neil....
