931.0. "Tape Conversion !" by EVOCDG::DECBAH::PATRO () Tue Jan 28 1997 11:10

    Looking for a utility either from Digital or any third party software
    company that can be used to convert the tapes from IBM's S/36 EBCDIC
    format to VAX/VMS format using the tape drives connected to a
    VAX4000-505. And also vice versa.

    This is required very urgently. or is there any way to achieve this
    conversion over the Network. Need some help please !!!

    Thank in advance !

Beware. Converting from IBM S/36 to VMS is not a no-brainer. If it was all
flat EBCDIC text that just needed conversion to ASCII text, then you could make
the claim.

There are several tools available to do the conversion. Contact ISVNET::MSI for
more information.

S/36 migration tools still exist and I believe the company MSI (see address
above) is the current maintainer.
