    Andover Inn. On the campus.

    A+++

    Best caesar salad I've ever had in my life. All other's will have to
    compare. Please give all of my previous entries in this note a score of
    F- no matter what I said.

    I'd say more but the Caesar at the Andover was spiritual. I'm
    choking up as I write this because of the memory. $6.99pp What a small
    price to put on bliss, nirvana whatever... Prepared at the table with
    such love and knowledge of how a simple but elegant ------ I'm sorry, I
    can't go on. Trust me on this. Even the waiter was beautiful and
    charming. She had a sense, a style, a respect yet a somewhat youthful
    serenity and appreciation of the fronds and spices that I've never seen
    before, yet, even if I never see it again, I feel satiated.

    [Forgive me for saying that but it's true. Almost angelic. Please dress
    formally to show the respect the salad deserves]

1770.28The 1785 Inn, North Conway, NHDECC::SULLIVANJeff SullivanMon Feb 24 1997 21:5219
I had the Ceasar at the 1785 Inn in North Conway, NH last year around this time.
It was prepared tableside and is listed currently as $9.85 for two. The
preparation was great, in our case, by a knowlegable waitor named Paris. Since
that was over a year ago, they must have made a good impression!

They also prepare flaming coffee drinks at the table and believe me, the degree
of difficulty is much higher than for the Ceasar. We actually didn't order one,
but the show put on at the table next to us was pretty exciting.

The inn is at "the scenic vista" at the north end of town and is recommended by
Bon Appetit, Wine Spectator, and a host of others. We enjoyed everything very
much. It's not an inexpensive place, but it's well worth it. They also have a
very extensive wine list.

See them on the web at http://www.mountwashingtonvalley.com/1785inn/
Everything I see on the page, including the photos is acurate (although I can't
comment on the accomidations).
