3518.0. "modem without DSR" by HGOVC::SHUMCF () Fri May 02 1997 09:20

    We have proposed a rackmounted US Robtic modem pools for connecting to
    DECserver 90M, however, the port on this modem pool using RJ45 but
    without DSR signal, can it be worked with DS90M because there is only
    DSR and DTR. This modem pool has the following modem signal :

    RI, DCD, SIGND, RX, TX, CTS, RTS and DTR

    If it works with DS90M, please kindly advise what will be the cabling
    pin configuration between DS90M and the modem port.

    Thanks in advance,
    cf

You have omitted the pinouts, so I can't specify any specific cables. I'm
pretty sure this would have to be a custom cable.

You _might_ be able to get by using DCD on the modem connected to DSR on the
DECserver. You'd have to test this to be certain, and it might invalidate
PTT certifications in certain countries. No guarantees here.

With the signal set you describe, you might be better off using a DS700 or
DS900.
