| Virtual Interfaces (VI) will be able to do IP Routing (V2) and
bridging only. I have read that the VIs behave or are configurable the
same way that physical interfaces are.
Strictly, the VI is the interface where IP routing is done, bridging
is done between the bridge ports (and associated interfaces) that are
members of the VI.
If I don't want other protocols having access to a particlulr VI, can
I have a VI that does IP routing only and bridging turned off?
You can't actually turn bridging off on any of the physical and logical
interfaces on the VNswitch (at least not and have IP routing on any of
those interfaces). But you can configure a VSD and its associated IP routing
VI so that there is only one port (interface) member of that VSD. Then
no traffic on any other ports of the VNswitch will be bridged to/from
the port where you are doing IP routing.
