    It might be useful to have a note on ski package prices so let me start
    with my bargain of the year:

    This is advertised regularly in the Sunday Times.  The secrets of
    success are a) you select their Superdeal which means you get put
    somewhere in the country when you arrive, b) leave it till the last
    week to book--the price goes down week by week and it makes no
    difference in allocating digs--and, c) choose the lowest level of
    accommodation; chances are you'll get upgraded anyway.
    
    Incidentally the accommodation we got was catered chalet and Zell/ 
    Kaprun was fine.
