2699.0. "ALL-IN-1/Remote MR, How to force translation ?" by VAXSPO::RP_SATO () Wed May 28 1997 03:00

    Hi again,

    Once more the scenario is:

        NODEA (VAX): ALL-IN-1 v3.0 PBL123A, MR S3.2-220
NODEB (ALPHA): ALL-IN-1 v3.2 BL101B accessing NODEC remotely
        NODEC (VAX): MR v3.3-313

I'm expecting to receive in NODEA only TXT files. So, I changed
field Translate to 1 in A1CONFIG and re-started ALL-IN-1 in NODEB.
Messages are still coming as WPS-PLUS. I also changed this field in
NODEA with re-start and defined logical OA$MTI_TRNS to 1 even
    in NODEC with no success.

Am I missing something ? What is the right way to force translation
of WPS-PLUS messages (to TEXT) coming from a node using remote MR ?

    Thanks for any help.

Armando,

The type of file you send makes a difference, at least in most
versions. I think by design documents that start from the WP
application are always sent untranslated. I think this means that
all attachments are untranslated.

The only place this setting means anything is on the sending node.
It has nothing to do with MR. (I would always use MR v3.3a even on
NODEA, but that is another issue.).

See note 2300 for a lengthy discussion of what gets translated and
when.
