2556.0. "ACCVIO's when printing or reading new mail" by AIMTEC::GRENIER_J (Jean Grenier) Wed Mar 05 1997 03:43

    Customer is running V3.1 of ALL-IN-1. His users use Wordperfect
    as their editor. Sporadically his users are experiencing stack
    dumps when printing a mail message and/or attachment. They can
    then go into ALL-IN-1 again and print without a problem the same
    message. This happens to different users and it is very random.
    He successfully converted all his files (RSF) on 02-MAR-1997.

    Another user does an RN from the EM menu and gets the following
    type errors many times (about 1.5 pages worth):

    %CONVERT-W-UNKCNTL, unknown RTF-control-word "\ansicpg" encountered

    Then he ACCVIO's.

    If he does an II first and selects a message and does a R (read)
    he can see the document fine.

    He has no patches to his V3.1 system.

    Any ideas????

    Thanks,
    Jean

2556.1ACCVIO doing RN of MessageAIMTEC::GRENIER_JJean GrenierWed Mar 12 1997 01:1319
    Problem is still occurring, more information from customer.

    User creates document in WORD from WIN95, does a "save as" to
    WPCORP format. Opens Teamlinks, selects document, sends.
    VT users' do an RN and get the following type errors many times
    (about 1.5 pages worth):

        %CONVERT-W-UNKCNTL, unknown RTF-control-word "\ansicpg" encountered

        Then  ACCVIO's.

    Sometimes doing an II first will correct the problem, but not always.
    Customer has already talked with SPIRE and was told this is an
    ALL-IN-1 conversion problem. This started with one user reporting
    the problem, now he has 3 users who have reported it.

    Any ideas???

2556.2Isn't outsourcing fun...IOSG::PYEGraham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's ApprenticeWed Mar 12 1997 11:097
    We already know about the RTF conversion errors, we get them here all
    the time. They come from the CDA convertor which is objecting to some
    record type in the message that it doesn't know how to handle. However,
    I've never seen (here) that followed by an ACCVIO.

    In any case, the CDA convertors are now supported by a third party, so
    I suggest you talk to them in the first instance.
2556.3Who?AIMTEC::GRENIER_JJean GrenierWed Mar 12 1997 17:483
    Who supports CDA Convertors?
