542.0. "Dialogue Bus direction" by CHEFS::KNIGHTR () Fri May 16 1997 22:48

    Dear Colleagues...

This is to keep you up to date with developments on the Dialogue Bus
    Toolkit engineering and commercial activities.

The Dialogue Bus Toolkit is now classified as a Digital Customisable
Asset (DCA) and part of the NSIS portfolio of reusable software. It is
now owned by the Business Systems and Integration group in Reading
(part of AD&I), and the Engineering Manager is Gary Burch (7-830-3348).

The Dialogue Bus Toolkit Engineering Team within the Group is now
responsible for the management, engineering and pricing of Dialogue Bus
Toolkit. Please contact us on 7-830-3348 or 7-830-2343 if you need details
of prices. We are very keen to maximise license and support revenue.

We are working towards a new release of the DBDK. As yet we do not have
any firm release dates. However, the immediate task of developing a
DBUS.EXE which runs on UNIX v4.0 has been completed. We offer this is a
patch. Contact us for further details.

We have further developed a Product Support Contract for the DBTK. So,
if you have sold it, please contact us for details of this support.

We are aslo keen to find sites that will act as both Alpha and beta
field test sites for us. If your site or development activity would
allow you you to use field test software, please let us know.

Please note that we do not intend to include Star Stream, Menuman or
HImage in this release. Please let me know if this causes you a
    problem.

Please mail me your current interest, requirements and issues for the
DBTK - Ray Knight (on Exchange) - or KNIGHTRA@mail.dec.com@exchange -
    or Ray Knight@UCG.

Look forward to hearing from you.

    Rgds RAY.
