2115.0. "The Tenth Insight" by NWD002::RADKE_HO () Tue May 21 1996 18:40

    Hi,

I am reading the new book by James Redfield, The Tenth Insight. I am
interested in comments and observations about the book from members of
    this group.

For those who have read The Celestine Prophecy, the new book picks up
the adventure here in the US and is written in the same style, with two
threads, one is the action novel which provides the platform for
    the metaphysical/spiritual object lessons.

I am about halfway through and feel that this book pushes the envelope
a bit with encounters in the other dimension (similar to near death
experiences, without being near death), conspiracy theories, etc. On
balance there is still a lot of good stuff in the book, and it is
entertaining although as in the Celestine Prophecy the reader is
sometimes requires to slog through a lot of unnecessary detail.

    Comments?

    Regards,

    	Howard

    Goodmorning,

I too am halfway through The Tenth Insight, and despite the longevity
of detail for painting the mood and surroundings, there are two good
messages for a fast paced, "where are we going society".

What keeps me involved in continued reading of the Tenth Insight are
    two beliefs which I hold:

One - It is my belief that within our world is an enormous amount
of spiritual communications and awarenesses which are blocked
due to the day to day distractions of survival. This book
reminds me of the discipline which I need in my life to stay
open for those who are on the other side wanting to guide,
direct and help me. How this communication occurs could be
through meditation, dreams, sleep, out of body experiences,
automatic writing, and countless other ways. I no longer
          attempt to limit the possibilities.

TWO: Not everyone is well intended, and there are those who for
reasons beyond my understanding remain calculated in destructive
behaviors and thoughts. This kind of force becomes the very
distractions in life which move me further and further away from
those things mentioned in ONE. And it happens so subtly,
slowly, over long periods of time.

I've met and talked with people such as Dannion Brinkley, George
Anderson, Rob Grant, and each one impresses me with one thing. Their
personal convictions of truth to both their personal trajedies, and
the spiritual solutions presented to them. The deciding factor is
always ours, as to whether to live in the solutions presented to us,
as we preceive and practice them, or whether we continue to ignore
    them for more tantilizing pleasures.

Thank you for presenting this topic to the notes file, and as I
continue to read further in the book, I may add comments along the way.

    Take Care,
